Word for the day "Faith in God"

Romans 10:17 (NKJV) So then faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.

Agricultural life is a recurring motif of significance to spiritual growth and our relationship with Jesus.

There’s an inseparable connection between faith in God and God’s Word. We see this underscored for us in the passage above from the Bible Book of Romans.

“Faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.” (Romans 10:17). Apart from the Bible, our faith would be very unfocused.

Our belief in God and spiritual matters would be random and would vary from opinion to opinion.

For your consideration, roots are essential for any plant to have life, likewise, a connection with Christ is a necessity if we are to have a full spiritual life.

Just as plants exhibit signs of life depending on the health of their roots, we can exhibit Christ-like qualities if we draw our spiritual sustenance from our Lord and His teachings.

Agricultural life is a recurring motif of significant metaphors about spiritual growth and our relationship with Jesus throughout the Bible.

Apart from the Bible, our faith in God would not be grounded.

In fact, if you want to see an example of this, all you must do is spend some time with someone who claims to be “spiritual” but who doesn’t have a firm grasp of God’s Word.

They may have faith, but their faith is going to be a shallow faith because it’s founded on ideas and beliefs that just aren’t grounded to the source (Our Lord).

As sincere as they might be, they are sincerely wrong, and what they believe isn’t going to stand the test of time.

That’s why it’s critical for our faith to be grounded in the Word of God.

If we deviate from what God has written down for us, it won’t take very long before we find ourselves misdirected in our life’s journey.

Our opinions and traditions will determine what we believe, but in the end, we will come to discover that the only things worth putting our faith in are the truths that come to us by God’s Word.

And because of the life relevance of Bible reading, we answer why the question of the desire to study the Bible in our life’s journey.

“Why waste your time with your nose in a book? Get out there and do something for God!”

In fact, it’s the study of Scripture that focuses our faith onto something that’s genuine and has an impact for God’s Kingdom.

In the agricultural context when a plant is first planted or transplanted, it needs extra attention; tenderness and care to make sure the roots are fully established.

It is the same with our hearts if we want our roots established in God’s love.

In fact, we must spend time receiving His love, learning more about His love, and believing that it is endless and unfailing.

The only way we can stay deeply rooted in a sustaining life-giving soil is to know that we didn’t get planted in God’s love by our own merit or by being good enough, or by working hard enough, or by following all the right rules.

We are here grounded in our faith by the grace of Christ alone. What is faith? It’s a word that we as Christians hear very often.

Faith in Jesus, God’s Son, and His sacrifice for us has saved us from eternal perdition and death. Faith in this is the basis for salvation.

It puts us in connection with God. But how does this faith translate into something concrete in my daily life, when I go about my tasks at home, at work, or wherever I am?
