Word for the day: " Watering Others"
Proverbs 11:25 (KJV) He that watereth shall be watered also himself. In today’s word we are taught the great lesson, that to receive, we must give; that to accumulate, we must freely give away, that to make ourselves happy, we must make others happy; and that in order to become spiritually devoted, we must seek the spiritual good of others. In watering others, we are ourselves watered. How does this happen? Our efforts to be useful bring out our powers for usefulness. We have hidden talents and dormant gifts, which are activated when we endeavor to be useful to others. It's one of the innumerable ways God facilitates His provision for human agency. We often find in attempting to teach others, that we gain instruction for ourselves. What incredible lessons some of us have learned at the sick bed of others! We endeavor to teach the Scriptures, we come away humbled that we knew so little about the Scriptures ourselves. So in essence the watering of others makes us humble and useful. Are you ready to be humbled and useful? If your answer is yes? Then you are ready to serve others for the Lord.If you read the story in (I KINGS 17:10-24) of the poor widow of Zarephath and how she gave from her scanty store, a supply for the prophet’s needs, and from that day she never again knew what want was. So let us embrace the spirit of giving then, and it shall be given unto you, good measure, pressed down, and running over, as it declares in the Scriptures (Luke 6:38). We discover how much grace there is, and so much of it is where we had not looked, and it is all by the provision of God. Have a great day being humble and useful to others sisters and brothers.Prayer: Awesome God, we thank You, for the honor to serve human agency in a time like this! We set our sights and hearts on Your will today, thank You for shifting us from selfish to selfless, let Your Kingdom reign on earth as it is in heaven, in Christ name Amen.Elder Baker
