Word for the day “It’s a heart matter”
Psalm 137:11 (KJV) Thy word have I hid in mine heart, that I might not sin against thee.
Remember to guard your heart.
What sorts of things find their way into your heart and mind? If you’re exposing yourself to a constant onslaught of ungodly words, music, or images. This places you in a position to handle your life in an irresponsible manner, but remember you can fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. In doing so, you’ll create a defense against some of the evil messages of ungodly influence so frequently sends your way.
We that are in a relationship with the Lord have been given the responsibility to guard our heart, and to keep track of the things we hold close within our heart. So, what’s in there? Hurt? Lust? Envy or even social media dangers? Are you harboring bitterness? Greed? Are you envious of others?
At times we have to check the status of our hearts.
If you are struggling with matters of the heart maybe it’s because you have more of the wisdom of this age in your heart than the true heart wisdom of God. Are you having a hard time finding God and following His ways? It’s the perfect time for a heart check-up between you and God. What do you have hidden in your heart? We have to guard our hearts with all diligence because out of it flow the issues of life (Proverbs 4:23).
Building good relationships, developing our minds, and strengthening our imaginations must be prioritized in our own lives. Oftentimes, we must also teach heart wisdom to our children and encourage others with these ideas. Our hearts are intimately connected to our destiny with the Lord.
Point to ponder
Holding onto God’s word in your heart will foster spiritual growth. In fact, by guarding against those things that hurt you and displease God, you literally help your own destiny advance spiritually. Live in such a way to be a productive person in the Kingdom of God, and watch how your life will manifest amazing things!
