Word for the day: “Relationships matter.”
I Corinthians 15:33 (NKJV) Do not be deceived: “Evil company corrupts good habits.”
Good morning Beloved leaders,
Today’s message is critical for your life and leadership journey. Be advised the people you choose to be your friends will have a lasting impact on your destiny. My late Mom, Shirley Baker, would tell me, “Son, show me your friends, and I will show you your destiny.” I know how hard it is to try to make new friends, but there are some people in your life you might need to evaluate. If every time you tell them about your dreams, they have a negative word, Perhaps they are the type of friends that they can only take from the relationship but never give to it. How you spend your time and who you spend time with matters.
RELATIONSHIPS MATTER, AND IT’S A GOOD TIME TO EVALUATE THEM.
As this year is rapidly coming to a close, I've purposed to make sure I’m committing to not wasting any more time. A part of not wasting time is making sure the people you are in a relationship with are legitimate. God uses friendship as an instrument for us to display God's qualities. Your friends and the people you are connected to are the people that you should be intentional about.
Faith leaders must carefully examine their friends. We must have a solid understanding of our relationships and purposes. Friends can either bring you up in life or bring you down. Just like a good parent tries to remove negative influences from their child’s life, I believe the Lord will remove bad influences from your life and replace them with godly influences.
WE NEED FRIENDS THAT MAKE US BETTER.
Ask God for wisdom when examining the friends in your life. Remember that bad company ruins good morals, so choose your friends wisely (I Corinthians 15:33 NKJV).
How to make sure your friends and relationships make you better:
· They are people who speak the truth to you in good and bad times.
· They are not in competition with you.
· They can be trusted.
· You can be vulnerable to them.
· You can be your authentic self with them.
· They celebrate your success with you.
· You can share your hopes and future with them.
· They pray with you and for you.
· They are people who genuinely want the best for you.
· They are people who believe in you.
· They are people who love you.
Special thanks!
