Word for the day “God has not forgotten you”

Isaiah 49:15 (NKJV) “Can a woman forget her nursing child, [j]And not have compassion on the son of her womb? Surely, they may forget, Yet I will not forget you. 16 See, I have inscribed you on the palms of My hands; Your walls are continually before Me.

Good morning leaders,

The news media is chock-full of negative information, and we are challenged to live with the fact that the God we serve has the whole world in his hands, even in the midst of this worldwide chaos.  I know all the reports tell you that despair is everywhere, but today I challenge you to expect more from God. Allow God to amaze you and do more than you ever expected.  “God has not forgotten you.”

I received a letter this week from one of the people our leadership organization has helped during the Thanksgiving season and the holidays, and he said to me, " This has been a hard year."  And he wrote about being a single parent and his struggle to make ends meet. I read the letter and felt his heart.  He wrote about how this time of not working had taken a toll of his sense of being a man and his son, whom he loved dearly.  I could sense the pain and despair in his letter.  I knew how much he was hurting and how he was longing for God to bring change into his life.

God has already given him so much but now he is in a season where he needs more from God.  The truth is something is happening in our world, and the struggle is real.  So, whenever there is so much significant change, it can cause us to question ourselves and lose our self-esteem.  I have been asking myself, am I asking too much? Am I being selfish? Am I being ungrateful? While I am incredibly thankful for all God has done so far, I feel with all of my heart more is coming from God.

When this man wrote me saying:

“I have a 15-year-old son which I finally got custody of and this year has been really tough. I just had an arm surgery, so I've been out of work for a couple of months and barely making it. I was contacting programs to see if I could do anything to get assistance for the holidays. I was shocked to receive a call on Monday to say they had a sponsor for us. I really didn't know what to say or do. The holidays, all I care about is my son, he deserves everything.

I can't thank you enough for your help. I picked up the food gift card and took my son to the store this morning to buy food for Thanksgiving. I will be honest, we had nothing.  It's people like you that put cheer into people's lives. I want to wish you all the best for yourself and your family. I can't say anymore but you gave myself and my son hope for the holidays.”

I wanted to remind those reading today God is going to bring you through every issue you are going through.   No matter what you are facing right now, God is saying, “I have not forgotten you”.  Your story is not over.  God will see you through.

Special thanks!
