Word for the day "Character, don't leave home without it"

character-quote-1.jpg

Proverbs 22:1 (NKJV) A good name is to be chosen rather than great riches, Loving favor rather than silver and gold.

Character is not just everything, character is the only thing.

In our workplace character is essential, Why? For starters, no job is perfect, and that means that your job isn’t perfect, either. So, from time to time, you’ll probably become upset with your job, and it is during these times, when you’re frustrated or upset, that you’ll be tempted to gripe, to waste time, and to do little else.Avoid these temptations they’re self-destructive.Even if you’re planning on quitting your job tomorrow, give your boss a full day’s work today.Otherwise, you’ll be developing a very bad habit: the habit of giving less than 100%.It’s a character- sabotaging trait, an easy habit to acquire, and a difficult habit to get free of. Always work on your character game it pays dividends beyond your imagination.

Learn to give your best no matter what situation you encounter.

If you’re looking for folks to waste time with, you can probably find them just about anywhere, including your workplace. But if you’re looking for a meaningful life (not to mention a career that you love), make up your mind to be the kind of person whose work speaks (in meaningful terms) for itself. When you do, you’ll discover that when you give your best, you enjoy working the most. Many definitions are attached to the word “success.” Some would include making it to the top of your profession, earning a great deal of money, becoming famous, winning awards, or gaining power and influence. While success can encompass all of these descriptions, a major ingredient that should be included in any definition of real success is making a positive difference in the lives of others. A person of high character has the influence to be a difference-maker, in a family, a business, a life, a culture.Quote"Character is doing the right thing when nobody's looking. There are too many people who think that the only thing that's right is to get by, and the only thing wrong is to get caught." J. C. Watts.

Point to ponder

Character and leadership work in tandem and the way I like to think of it. Peter Drucker defined leadership in this way: "Leadership is the lifting of a man's vision to higher sights, the raising of a man's performance to a higher standard, the building of a man's personality beyond its normal limitations." A person of high character is always a candidate to be a great leader.
