Word for the day "Handle the Pressure"
Jeremiah 11:20 (NIV) But you, Lord Almighty, who judge righteously and test the heart and mind, let me see your vengeance on them, for to you I have committed my cause.
Leadership and pressure go hand and hand so don’t be afraid.
Don’t be afraid of pressure. The pressure is what transforms a lump of coal into a diamond. Life can be seen as a series of tests.
We test things by putting them under pressure. Physical muscles grow through being put under pressure.
God is more interested in how your heart and mind grow when they are tested; the Lord will challenge us in ‘the heart and mind’ (Jeremiah 11:20).
God is not impressed by what we say we will do. I believe the Lord is influenced by what we do when we are put under pressure.
Progress in life, ministry and the marketplace happen when you are tried and tested, and you pass the test. In life, you will be challenged and tested in various aspects of your life.
The most effective leaders handle pressure situations the best.
It is a given fact by researchers that leaders who excel under pressure face the same level of stress and pressure that are usually found among the greatest athletes and exemplary military units.
One of the elements that differentiate great leaders from the rest is their ability to function under pressure, thrive under pressure, and lead people in high-pressure situations.
Leaders who thrive under pressure use pressure as motivation to bring out the best in one’s self and in others around them.
Pressure can have both positive as well as negative impact on a leader’s end game. Even the most capable and highly gifted person, under pressure, may seem to be very ineffective and incompetent.
What differentiates effective and ineffective leadership is one’s ability to handle pressure, attitude towards pressure, and how one approaches high-pressure situations.
More than the source and kind of pressure faced by leaders, it is one’s ability to handle pressure, attitude, and approach that determines the effectiveness or ineffectiveness of a leader.
Point to ponder
When a leader does not have the emotional maturity, internal fortitude, and skills, to deal with pressure this enables pressure to overtake their emotions. They are reduced ineffective and responds to pressure inappropriately.
Therefore, build your internal fortitude to handle pressure, have a positive attitude towards pressure, and be aware of how to manage high-pressure situations. Leaders who handle pressure effectively will have a calming effect on others.
