Word for the day "The wait is worth it"

Psalm 27:13 (NKJV) I would have lost heart, unless I had believed, That I would see the goodness of the LORD, In the land of the living. 14 Wait on the LORD; Be of good courage, And He shall strengthen your heart; Wait, I say, on the LORD!

The struggle is real and it is necessary for your development.

If you tear open a cocoon to set a butterfly free, the creature’s wings will be severely underdeveloped.

This is because the very act of struggling to leave the cocoon strengthens the butterfly’s wings, preparing it for flight.

In other words, it’s a necessary part of the butterfly’s process. Without the struggle, the butterfly would never be able to take flight.

We too have times of transition and metamorphosis, yet our remedy is not unlike the butterfly.

If we try escaping God’s cocoon before the Lord is done transforming us, we risk undermining and delaying what the Lord is doing in our life.

So, when you are experiencing time in the cocoon, remember the butterfly and the process involved for all of the Lord’s children.

In your time of waiting you will discover God and yourself.

In the quiet places of your life, listen to God. In the waiting, your character is formed. If you wait upon God and allow the Lord to release you from the cocoon, you will be strong and prepared to fly in ways you never could have if you’d left the process (cocoon) too soon.

It’s important to simply enjoy the process. Really let yourself slow down for a few minutes and wait for what God wants to show you.

Today’s message is for someone who has been waiting for a long time and you may be losing hope remember to wait on the Lord.

When we are waiting on the Lord, be advised many times you will discover God. I have discovered in my own life that self-discovery leads to God's discovery.

Perhaps that’s what it's about more than anything. To be still long enough to discover the Lord for yourself after you’ve waited.

In verse 13 of today’s reading, the Psalmist waited to see God come through for him, so in his time of waiting he believed God, and then he saw God show up in his life in an amazing way.

The Psalmist recorded his observations and so can you and I people of God.

I also find it helpful to keep a journal and pen nearby to jot down what I’ve discovered. As a matter of fact, journaling Scripture and writing it out and then recording your observations can be a form of scriptural meditation all its own. Have an amazing week!
