Word for the day "God's calling on your life"

John 7:16 (NIV) Jesus answered, “My teaching is not my own. It comes from the one who sent me. 17 Anyone who chooses to do the will of God will find out whether my teaching comes from God or whether I speak on my own.

When God has a calling on your life the earth will cry out for your gift.

Why does God want the totality of your life before He shows you your calling? The answer to that question is found in today’s reading (John 7:16–17), where Jesus said, “My teaching is not Mine, but His who sent Me.

If any man is willing to do His will, he shall know of the teaching, whether it is of God, or whether I speak from Myself.”

You must be willing to do God’s will before you know His will. Many of us say to God, “Show me what you want me to do, and I will let You know whether I am into that or not.

Let me know the plan, and I will tell you whether I plan to do it.” But it is God who chooses us (John 15:16)!

This is my testimony of how my life has been transformed by God, I became willing to try God’s will and I really didn’t know the Lord’s plan for my life.

Once I became willing to submit to God’s calling on my life, the people, events, and assignments slowly were revealed to me over time.

God’s calling is a process for your life, it doesn’t happen in an instant.

In fact, God’s plan is not up for negotiation. God is only going to reveal your calling to you when you are committed to doing it ahead of time.

God will not negotiate His will for your life. As (Romans 12:1–2) says, you must give all of yourself to God and be discerning how you give yourself to the world system that wants independence from God.

Now, of course, this is a process in our journey and is not in an instant, but we are always moving towards God’s will once we become willing to accept the calling on your life.

The Lord is literally saying if we conform to this world, we will not be able to have the revelation of  His calling for our lives. We must say, as Moses said to God at the burning bush, “Here I am” (Exodus 3:4).

In other words, “What do you want of me, Lord? I am ready to obey.” Giving yourself totally to God is giving the Lord full power over your life.

When you do that, you experience the abundant life God has promised to give you.

Reference Verse (Mark 8:34): “And He summoned the crowd with His disciples, and said to them, “If anyone wishes to come after Me, he must deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me.”

I wonder if the Lord has a call on your life, and you just didn’t understand how you were to interact in the process of God’s call to you.

Perhaps you do understand there is call on your life and haven’t submitted to the call.

Lastly, maybe you have responded to the call and doing all you know-how at this time, let me encourage you today to allow the process to have its way.

Prayer: Father, give us the faith to commit to you ahead of knowing the whole picture of our lives. Help our unbelief where belief is lacking. We do want to serve you, Lord. Teach us how to serve you in a way that is pleasing in your sight; In Christ name, Amen!
