Word for the day "All power belongs to God"
Psalm 22:27-28 (MSG) From the four corners of the earth people are coming to their senses, are running back to GOD. Long-lost families are falling on their faces before him. GOD has taken charge; from now on he has the last word. 29. All the power-mongers are before him—worshiping! All the poor and powerless, too worshiping! Along with those who never got it together—worshiping!
There are times in life when you feel simply powerless.
Sometimes we feel powerless for one reason or another. You may be in a situation where other people have power over you.
You may feel that you are trapped by the demands of others and that there’s no way to please them all.
It’s a double-bind: to please one is to disappoint another. Sometimes when we feel stuck and frustrated with our relationships, we look for a measure of control by escaping through our various addictive behaviors.
There are times when you will feel powerless in life!
There are things about ministry that we all find very difficult, and the things that we find difficult in life.
The difficult things about ministry are not so different from the things that perhaps you find difficult about wherever you're serving the Lord, in your home, in your church, in your school, career, in your situation.
The powerless times in your life opens the door for you to go to the Lord who has all power. The omnipotent God speaks of the Lord having unlimited power, able to do anything.
Always remember that all power belongs to God.
When you are caught in no-win situations, don’t run away through your addictive or compulsive escape practices.
At times like these God is there, and the Lord will listen to your challenges. God hears your cries and is willing to give you hope for the future.
If in your life you feel powerless, admit it to God and watch God work in your life in incredible ways.
Yet that's the way many people do feel when they face violence, financial crisis, oppressive working conditions, menacing addiction, disease, pain. But the good news of the Bible is that we are not powerless. That we shouldn't feel this way.
"Power belongeth unto God," says the Bible (Psalm 62:11 NKJV). Power to rescue: "The Lord thy God in the midst of thee is mighty; he will save" (Zeph. 3:17 NKJV).
Power to heal: "O Lord my God, I cried unto thee, and thou hast healed me" (Psalm 30:2 NKJV). And the power to be unafraid: "For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind" ( II Tim. 1:7 KJV).
Point to ponder
Admit to God that you are powerless; surrender to the Lord and allow His Holy Spirit to invade your life, it’s the power you need to move forward. You can begin today to be all the Lord has purposed for your life.
