Word for the day "Being alone can be dangerous"
II Samuel 8:15 (MSG) Thus David ruled over all of Israel. He ruled well—fair and even-handed in all his duties and relationships.
The caution of being happily alone in life.
On a normal basis, I don’t have any problems relating to people. Usually, I don’t ever get irritated or upset with anyone: as long as I’m alone.
It’s scary how easy life is when I’m alone and isolated. The worst in me can lie dormant for years as long as there’s no one around to awaken the sleeping giants inside of me.
Being alone can be harmless at times, in fact, being alone is necessary and can be unavoidable.
Everyone must spend some alone time in their life. However, when you start remaining alone for long periods of time, isolated from the connection of human relations, you start to have feelings of loneliness. T
his isolation may be harmful and dysfunctional. After all, we are created to be in relationships (Ephesians 2:11-12).
Relationships with others empower us to grow in ways beyond living in isolation.
It may be true that a life of isolation is easier, but it’s also emptier. When you don’t have to face who you really are, you grow comfortable and stop developing into what God wants for you and your destiny.
Loneliness is a feeling, it is an emotional response to being alone. And therefore, yes, loneliness can be dangerous. It is a negative state of mind that you develop when you're in isolation.
Most people, in their initial struggle with loneliness, are not able to understand the condition. They either do not accept their condition or even if they do, they desperately try to engage in measures to avoid facing the situation.
Although loneliness has not been classified as a disease, it affects our health in surprising ways. Sleeplessness, Heartbreak, Dementia, Poor eating habits, can be attributed to loneliness in our lives.
As humans, we are meant to be socially connected, but while many of us may be connected to a diverse social network online it’s not a substitute for human relationships.
Events like a breakup, a move, or a falling out with friends can cause us to lose those in the real world, causing us to fall into loneliness.
Point to ponder
You may think this is the way life’s meant to be. But disconnecting has never been a part of God’s plan for your life. Life is about relationships, relationship with God and with one another. After all, you’re a human being, and as we’ve learned over life’s challenges, we don’t do well on our own. Have a great day family of God!
