Word for the day "Making the Son your choice"

I Peter 2:9 (NIV) But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light. 10 Once you were not a people, but now you are the people of God; once you had not received mercy, but now you have received mercy.

A story for your consideration shared by Steve Arterburn:

Anticipation grew as the Christmas day auction of the estate of an art collector began. His collection included priceless works of the masters.

The first piece auctioned, however, was a portrait of the late art collector’s son who’d been killed in a war. A comrade in arms, whom his son rescued, painted it.

The auctioneer asked for an opening bid; the room was silent. Impatience grew; the room was filled with art collectors wanting to bid on the real treasures-Picasso’s, Van Gogh’s, and Monet’s. Finally, an old man spoke.

“Will you take ten dollars for the painting? That’s all I have. I knew the boy, so I’d like to have it.” “Going once, going twice. Gone.”

The gavel fell, and the auctioneer announced the auction was over. Stunned disbelief quieted the room. Then a voice broke the silence, “What do you mean it’s over?”

The auctioneer replied, “It’s very simple. According to the will of the father, whoever takes the son gets it all.”

Point to ponder

Family and friends, it’s the same for you and the same for me. When we take Jesus the Son of God we get it all.

The Father, Son, and Holy-Ghost! The most important decision in your life will be whether you accept Jesus as your personal Lord and Savior.

You must choose forgiveness and a relationship with God. This begins with repentance and turning away from your sins and old life to a new life in Christ.
