Word for the day "The Gift of Parenting"
Job 1:5 (NKJV) So it was when the days of feasting had run their course, that Job would send and c]">[c]sanctify them, and he would rise early in the morning and offer burnt offerings according to the number of them all. For Job said, “It may be that my sons have sinned and cursedd]">[d] God in their hearts.” Thus Job did regularly.
The most precious gift you can give your children is your time not purchased goods.
When we as parents neglect to spend special time with our precious children, in their formative years a credibility gap emerges. In fact, one of the most impactful mistakes we as parents can make is demanding and expecting respect from our children without having a genuine relationship with them.Children may live with this harmful contradiction for years; but if you’re cultivating frustrated, superficial relationships with your children today, the odds are extremely likely that, in time, they won’t respect your advice, later in their lives. There will come a time when you will want to give counsel and want your once children and now adults to respond to your warnings when they need it most.
The relationship you cultivate today with your children will harvest in the days ahead.
The rich experience of parental gifting goes beyond words and deeds. But never forget despite whatever else parenthood maybe, it’s a battleground for the well-being of your children. Therefore, it’s imperative that you learn to fight effectively for your children, and it all starts with the relationship just like it does for us with God.Parents strive to make their children's lives better before they come into this world and continue to do that until the end of their lives. The sacrifices we make for our children are innumerable. This is one of the biggest sacrifices someone makes as a parent.I believe Emotional Quotient (EQ) is more important than Intelligence Quotient (IQ). An emotionally stable person provides a sense of resolve than someone who’s not.I’ll always remember how my parents change their lives for us, and this provided emotional security and emotional health for my sister and me.There are some people and moments in our lives which provide us with emotional security. All these sacrifices can affect lives in a negative manner as parents in our emotional health and personal lives.
The untold sacrifices of parenting can cause great distress to your life.
Many parents can experience relationship issues with their partner because they spend their lives either working or caring for children.Good Parenting can often have various negative outcomes that can emerge during years of raising your children.Parents as people can experience a declining emotional connect between spouses and ultimately leading to destroyed unions and divorce proceedings. The sacrifices are untold when it comes to the gifting of parenting but one we as parents would all do again if life gave us another chance. There are instances of happy endings in the life of parents and just as many painful endings in the lives of parents.Good parenting does not guarantee converted children and bad parenting does not necessarily result in unconverted children.Good parenting essentially brings glory to God and when the Lord is pleased you have completed the greatest challenge you’ll ever experience in life’s journey. If we treat our children as God treats us, we will not go far wrong. They are not our possession. They are entrusted to us by God, and we have only been given them for a time. So, the best thing I can do for my child is to walk as closely to Jesus Christ as I can.
Point to ponder
Remember, a parent never retires. Maybe their words of wisdom may not be held in 21st-century relevance in today’s world, but experience is the best teacher. After all, sacrifices a parent makes it’s all because we know our children are our gift from God. And what we do with our gift our children is our gift back to God!
