Word for the day "Check yourself before you wreck yourself"

Exodus 9:12 (NIV) But the LORD hardened Pharaoh’s heart and he would not listen to Moses and Aaron, just as the LORD had said to Moses. 13 Then the LORD said to Moses, “Get up early in the morning, confront Pharaoh and say to him, ‘This is what the LORD, the God of the Hebrews, says: Let my people go, so that they may worship me, 14 or this time I will send the full force of my plagues against you and against your officials and your people, so you may know that there is no one like me in all the earth.

Be certain to be clear on what God’s word says concerning your destiny.

I have found that many people will reject Christ without even knowing what the Lord says. They will reject the Bible without reading it, even saying the Bible is full of contradictions. But when asked what so-called contradictions in the Bible they have a problem with, they can never identify them. That is because they haven’t read the Bible. They refuse to believe the truth, and instead, they believe whatever allows them to continue in their rejection of God.For example, Pharaoh hardened his heart, even when miracle after miracle was performed by the hand of God through Moses and Aaron. But then we read, “The Lord hardened the heart of Pharaoh” (Exodus 9:12).Isn’t that a contradiction? No, it is a progression. Initially, Pharaoh did harden his heart. He hardened it again and again. And then God hardened or strengthened it in the path of Pharaoh’s ultimate choice. We can experience this trepidation in our lives today if we are not mindful of the Lord’s sovereignty in our lives.

The Lord gives us a choice to embrace or reject His purposes for our lives.

God has given us a free will. He will not force us to believe something we don’t want to believe.God will not come to us and seek to convince us of the truth of the Scripture or our destiny in His plan. The Holy Spirit will work in our hearts. But we have the ability to resist the Holy Spirit.I am learning daily to embrace God in the ways the Lord connects with me! Do you reject God? Do you realize that we can reject God in our attitudes and preferences?I am learning more and more each day that God’s way is the best way for my life. The more you’re aware of your choices, the more control you have over your life and its outcome. Therefore, one very important job you have in life is to make as many unconscious behavioral patterns as possible, conscious. That’s how you move from reactive to proactive spiritual choices. You can achieve that by getting to know yourself, self-reflection and inward care.

Point to Ponder

If you harden your heart again and again towards the Lord, there will come a day when God will strengthen you in your own resolve. In other words, God will leave you to your own desires and that includes rejecting the Lord! Just a word of caution today “Check yourself” before you wreck yourself!
