Word for the day "Alone but not alone"

Hebrews 13:5 (NKJV) Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”[a] 6 So we may boldly say: “The LORD is my helper; I will not fear. What can man do to me?”[b]Often, I am in places like work, events, and functions full of people. Everyone else seems fine and appears to be effortlessly making easy connections with others. I can at times feel out of sorts. I Have experienced, seen and heard things in these environments that somehow make me feel out of place and can knock me off kilter. Often in my work environment I can feel “I would really like to be at home alone, hanging out with the people I’d rather be around, being silly and having clean fun. But life doesn’t work like that, so I have to be in places and situations that often leave me feeling, very lonely. Do you ever experience these feelings?I politely smile my way through these times and finally at some point get to go home. At times I crawl into bed, I ask the Lord, “Why am I letting some of these thoughtless people and external things affect me like this?” Just wanted to have some real talk in today’s message!There was no deep explanation the Lord gave me. There was no Bible verse that instantly popped into my head. There was no sudden rush of peace through my heart. There was only a very gentle reminder in the depths of my soul that Jesus loves me, insecurities and all. Difficult times and all! How about you?Yes Jesus loves me, simple but so powerfully profound, that one statement grounds me in the truth of who God says I am. Friends can't make you feel accepted all the time. Accomplishments will never truly make you feel secure. Having lots of people around you does not mean you won't ever feel lonely. Do you ever feel lonely even with people all around?Point to ponder: I draw close to him so he can help me separate solid truth from shifting emotion. And I'm reminded of today’s reading by the writer of the book of Hebrews that God says, “Never will I leave you; never will I forsake you” (Hebrews 13:5).In His Love,Pastor James Baker, Jr.
