Word for the day "Look to the Lord"
Daniel 4:34 (NLT) “But at the end of that period, I, Nebuchadnezzar, raised my eyes toward heaven and my reason returned to me, and I blessed the Most High and praised and honored Him who lives forever; For His dominion is an everlasting dominion, And His kingdom endures from generation to generation."It has been my experience that God many times has a way of showing us that we don’t know as much as we think we do. And the Lord will certainly act when we need to be shown that we don’t know better than He does. Have you ever experienced this reality in your own life concerning the Lord?In the bible that’s what happened to King Nebuchadnezzar who had to learn a serious lesson in humility. Talk about a severe act of mercy. This once proud and pompous king was struck with a mental illness for seven years. His mental illness caused him to roam the pastures outside the palace and chew grass like a cow. After paying the price for his pride, the once self-sufficient and self-centered king said, “Now I, Nebuchadnezzar, praise and exalt and glorify the King of heaven, because everything He does is right and all His ways are just. And those who walk in pride He is able to humble.” (Daniel 4:37) In this confession, three things are important established for our learning, the words: “everything,” and “all,” and the phrase “His ways.”These words speak to the king’s new understanding of God’s control and to the choice the Lord wants each of us to make: God’s way or my way? Too often we neglect to ask God, “How do you want me to handle this?” or “How should I respond to this situation in a manner consistent with God’s word and God’s will?” How do you feel about this and your life?Often times the reasons for not asking these vital questions simply boils down to one of two issues: Our ignorance or our arrogance. I really don’t suggest or recommend either. Neither will add value to your life, and both carry very serious consequences to the quality of our life. At the end of the day we must look to the Lord for guidance, direction, and for the necessary choices we make in our lives. May the Lord bless you today life never before in your life!!!
