Well, it’s just not true. You don’t have to agree with me or believe me, but just hear me out! Your problems and setbacks don’t determine the shape and direction of your life. What problems and setbacks do, on the other hand, is reveal our true character. They show you how we respond to fear, disap­pointments, and failures.They reveal what level of resilience you possess; whether or not you are content to play the role of a victim; and whether you’re willing to risk again after initial failure. In other words, they diagnose your shortcomings and call you to positive change. Today’s message is for marriages, relationships of all kinds, youth and young adults, career and work force folks, abuse survivors, and those sick with acute illnesses.Problems and setbacks are the crucible of character formation, and they are perspective check times when we pause and evaluate what’s truly important in life. So don’t get down when troubles come your way. They are to be expected but handled with tenacity and God every step of the way.
