Word for the day: "You can count on God"

I Corinthian 10:13 (NKJV) No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.Sisters and brothers when we are considering the promises of God, it is imperative to keep His faithfulness in front view. Today’s word helps us focus on the faithfulness of God, while offering even more promises from our God in our times great challenge. I’d like to close this week in a reflective mindset, would you join me while reading my insights on this passage written by the Apostle Paul. The setting in this passage provides for our meditation, and reflection on temptations (or, testing). V13 “No temptation has overtaken you.” It is fascinating to note that this word temptation translated in Greek can also be understood as “Testing.” This gives insight into the question often raised during difficult times: “Is this the enemy of our souls that wants to tempt us into wrong responses like doubt, fear, or compromise. Yet on the other hand, in the same battles, the Lord wants to test us (to exercise our faith). Divine revelation appropriately, informs us that this one term can be used for both situations. Interestingly, in any temptation or testing, we can be confident that our struggles are not unique in the realm of God. V13 “No temptation (or testing) has overtaken you except such as is common to man.” Whatever our struggle, the Lord has handled it innumerable times before. I don’t know about you but I am overwhelmed by this truth of God.More significant than the commonplace nature of our struggles is the faithfulness of God: v13“But is faithful.” This is the core issue in our impossibilities. Too often we are consumed with the challenges we face than on the faithfulness of God. So in a nutshell first, God will not allow battles that are inappropriate for our stage of spiritual development. V13 “God will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able.” Second, V13 "God will eventually at the right time provide a way of escape.” The Lord will not allow the enemy to destroy us. And whatever the difficulty involves, the Lord will see us through. "We can count on God", have an awesome weekend! Todays message is especially for Leaders of families, jobs, communites, churches, and leaders in the making whether young, middle age, elderly.Prayer: Dear Lord, thank You for exposing the lie of the enemy that my trials are unique. Thank You for promising to see us through and bring us out at the right time. Lord, help us to rest our expectations on Your faithfulness, in Christ name, Amen.
