Word for the day: "Time to Repent"
II Peter 3:9 (NKJV) The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance. The Apostle Peter explains clearly in today’s riveting word cup, and who better to share with us about the Lord being longsuffering towards all humanity and wanting us to come to repentance than “Peter”! As it was Peter, who denied the Lord (Luke 22:60-62), and was forgiven by the Lord (Mark 16:7) and used as instrument to write this Letter about God’s Heart towards all of us. Sisters and brothers please don’t get the idea that because God has not judged the world’s sin or your sin; He is not going to do it all. Judgment day is coming for all of us, (Believe it or not?)But right now God is being patient with sinners, lovingly and inviting them to trust Christ and the plan of salvation. Yet, one of these hours, the day of grace will end and the day of God’s judgment will begin, and for many it will be too late (II Peter 3:10-14). The throne of Grace will become the throne of judgment and justice, so let’s trust in Christ for our lives now while we still have time. (How do I do that? Romans 10:9-13)Romans 10:9 that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. 10 For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. 11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.” ] 12 For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. 13 For “whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved.”Have you ever yielded your life to God before? Please don’t worry about anything God really loves you and wants to forgive and give you the abundant life that is found only in Christ! Have a great day of contemplation and consideration of giving your life to Christ once and for all eternity! I really love all of you receiving these daily word cups!Elder Baker
