Word for the day "A New Heart"

Ezekiel 36:26  (NIV) I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. To live a life committed to the will of God, humans need more than their own best efforts and intentions. The history of Israel emphatically demonstrates this truth. God gave His commandments saying “Walk in My statutes, keep My judgments, and do them” (Ezekiel 20:19). Israel promises to obey “All that the Lord has said, (Exodus 24:7). Nevertheless, they failed miserably even in their best intentions and observances of God’s statutes. What do you think were the reason for these shortfalls? Or may I say, what is the reason for our shortfalls today? In today’s word, we see a promise from God to supply that new life that will transcend our shortfalls. V26 “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you” The book of Hebrews elaborates on this new heart as a covenant of grace and applies it to (us) the people of God today. “Therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus, By a new and living way, which he hath consecrated for us” (Hebrews 10:19-20). This simply means when anyone embraces the grace of God offered in Jesus Christ (the mediator, the great High Priest of the new covenant), that person is born again by the Spirit of God. Remember ‘That which is born of the flesh is flesh and that which is born of the Spirit is Spirit” (John 3:3).Think of our desperate need for this experience to unfold personally that will bring us a new heart, a new life, and a new purpose. Those that are not born again are described in the scriptures as living in futility and alienated from the life of God (Ephesians 4:17-18). Now this is some deep stuff folks, do you know of family members? Friends? or just some people? Who need this “New Heart” New Life” offered in God! “Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new” (2 Corinthians 5:17). What are you doing about it? And if you are reading this word today and don’t have this new life, I am praying for you today like never before! Have a great weekend and “A New Heart”Prayer: Dear Lord, giver of new life, I praise You for replacing my old, hard, dead heart with a new, responsive, living heart today and for the rest of my life. Now I long that you would transform in this moment the lives of my sisters and brothers who have not receive this “New Heart” that you have made available in Jesus name Amen.
