I Chronicles 29:11 (NIV) Yours, LORD, is the greatness and the power and the glory and the majesty and the splendor, for everything in heaven and earth is yours. Yours, LORD, is the kingdom; you are exalted as head over all.The words “weight of glory” (2 Corinthians 4:17 NKJV) For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, is working for us a far more exceeding and eternal “weight of glory” - brings to mind the image of Lady Justice who is depicted holding the ancient pan scale for those of you who remember?! In ancient time the pan scale was used as a way to determine the weight of a purchase by placing weights on one side and the purchase on the other. I think of God doing the same with our struggles.Sisters and brothers can you imagine our God doing this for us? On one side he stacks all your burdens, shortfalls, neglects, those parents who forgot you, bosses who ignored you, bad breaks, bad health, bad days. Just stack them up watch one side of the pan scale will drop? Glory to God!! And just imagine God causing the scale to change it’s trajectory on your behalf this very day.Now let us witness together God’s response. Does He remove them? Eliminate the burdens? No, rather than take them away, he offsets them. He places an eternal weight of glory on the other side. So we come out of it all with endless joy, endless peace. An eternity of God; so watch what happens as He sets eternity on the scales of your life.Everything changes! The burdens lift; the heavy becomes light when the Glory of God touches your life against eternity. He knows your beginning and your end, because He has neither. He sees your birth and your burial in one snap shot. So much of Eternity doesn't make literal sense to us, now does it? But it is one of God’s ways of helping us in our time here and now in this life. It is the greatness and power of God that is above all! Have a fantastic Day!Elder Baker
