Word for the day: "I Surrender All"

Genesis 21: 1-4 (AMP) THE LORD visited Sarah as He had said, and the Lord did for her as He had promised. 2For Sarah became pregnant and bore Abraham a son in his old age, at the set time God had told him. 3Abraham named his son whom Sarah bore to him Isaac. 4And Abraham circumcised his son Isaac when he was eight days old, as God had commanded him.Sisters and Brothers have you ever experienced a time when God asked you to give back to Him what you once told Him was His to have. Today’s word provides some thought provoking consideration and insight into the life of Abraham and Sarah. Abraham had a circumcised son Isaac. Circumcision signified the covenant that existed between God and Abraham. The Covenant was designed to be passed through the family via man. So what Abraham had said to God when he circumcised Isaac was that he was committing Isaac to God.I have discovered in my life, its one thing to say “I surrender all” God.” It’s another thing to mean it. As long as the Lord is not asking us to give up what is precious in our eyes. But as soon as God wants what’s precious to us, we can become very territorial, protecting what we once had committed to Him. In fact, nearly everyone reading this word today has been territorial towards God at one time or another. We have all had a spiritual conflict with God. God wanted you to surrender something that you thought He had given you to begin with: a relationship, an ambition, a job, a family member, health, finances, or home. Yes God was asking you to sacrifice something at His altar, but you also knew how you felt about the sacrifice and how you felt about letting it go. Yes you did and it really was painful.God doesn’t always ask us to sacrifice something as literal as was the case with Abraham and his son Isaac. But God does have a way of testing our hearts in relationship to Him. Maybe He is asking us to remain single longer than we had hoped, or even married longer than we desire. Maybe He’s asking us to put our career on the altar, a promotion, or even a relationship. Trust me whatever; it is God knows the very thing needed to test the most intimate parts of our heart. God knows that words are superficial at best, even with good intentions. Our Faith in God only gets tested when our feet move in His direction and “Surrender all”. Blessings and Love to you all!Prayer: Lord God of all power and might, I rejoice in the surrender of my heart to you. I thank you for your children who are touched by the words of this ministry today. And Lord as we surrender all to you, develop our lifestyles for service in your Kingdom. Forgive our gripping and complaining and inundate us unto thanksgiving in all things. Forgive our desires to rule and fill us unto servanthood and surrender, through Christ, I pray, Amen. Have a wonderful and Blessed weekend.Elder Baker
