Word for the day- "Blessed to be a Blessing"

Genesis 12:1- 3 (MSG) God told Abram: "Leave your country, your family, and your father's home for a land that I will show you. 2) I'll make you a great nation and bless you.  I'll make you famous; you'll be a blessing.  3) I'll bless those who bless you; those who curse you I'll curse. All the families of the Earth will be blessed through you."Today’s word shares with us the call of Abraham and God’s blessing through him. In this passage God makes a Covenant with Abraham, theologians and scholars call this a binding agreement known as the Abrahamic covenant. God promised Abraham that he would bless him and that Abraham would in return be a blessing to others. Abraham was Blessed to be a Blessing! Please take note that God’s covenant didn’t stop with His blessing for Abraham. Supernaturally, embodied in the covenant with Abraham’s blessing; would transcend to others who would be blessed (V3) through Abraham. It is Imperative to understand that a blessing in the Bible means to experience, enjoy, and extend the divine favor of God in your life. Many times I forget that when we ask God to bless us, we forget the enormity of a blessing. We forget that God will not only Bless us, but God’s blessings can’t be contained and will over flow into to the lives of everyone in our sphere of influence. And that’s what today’s word declares to us today; God wants us to be a blessing to everyone around us! Sisters and Brothers we are “Blessed to be a Blessing” and that is the bottom line.Elder Baker
