Word for the day: “The heart of leadership.”
Proverbs 4:23 (NIV) Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.
BELOVED LEADERS,
Today is simply a reminder to guard your heart. As a leader of your family, business, or ministry, you must closely monitor your heart. The heart of you as a person, especially those of us in leadership, matters. In most instances, the heart of leadership is serving others first, before yourself. The concern with this is most organizations operate from a hierarchical leadership structure. Leaders climb up the ladder in an organization and, once there, see themselves above their team. I am nudging your leadership philosophy to operate in a way that sets you apart as a great leader and wins the hearts of your team and those you serve.
REMEMBER TO GUARD YOUR HEART.
What sorts of things find their way into your heart and mind? If you expose yourself to a constant onslaught of ungodly words, music, or images. This places you in a position to handle your life irresponsibly, but remember you can fill your heart and mind with God’s Word. In doing so, you’ll create a defense against some of the evil messages of ungodly influence so frequently sent your way.
We who are in a relationship with the Lord have been given the responsibility to guard our hearts and to keep track of the things we hold close within our hearts. So, what’s in there? Hurt? Lust? Envy or even social media dangers? Are you harboring bitterness? Greed? Are you envious of others?
I know this message to be true for myself and felt compelled to share it with you today.
AT TIMES WE HAVE TO DO A HEART AUDIT.
If you are struggling with matters of the heart, maybe it’s because you have more of the wisdom of this age in your heart than the actual heart wisdom of God. Are you having a hard time finding God and following His ways? It’s the perfect time for a heart check-up between you and God. What do you have hidden in your heart (Psalm 119:11)? We must guard our hearts with all diligence because the issues of life flow out of it.
Building good relationships, developing our minds, and strengthening our imaginations must be prioritized in our own lives. Often, we must also teach heart wisdom to our children and encourage others with these ideas. Our hearts are intimately connected to our destiny with the Lord.
POINT TO PONDER
Holding onto God’s word in your heart will foster spiritual growth. In fact, by guarding against those things that hurt you and displease God, you help your destiny advance spiritually. Live in such a way as to be productive in the Kingdom of God and watch how your life will manifest incredible things.
Quote Zig Ziglar: “If you help people get what they want, they will help you get what you want.”
