Word for the day: “Learning to trust God, when God is silent.”
Job (NLT) 23: 8 I go east, but he is not there. I go west, but I cannot find him. 9 I do not see him in the north, for he is hidden. I look to the south, but he is concealed. 10 “But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold.
BELOVED LEADERS,
I write today’s message with prayers and faith that someone will continue to trust God even when, at times, God is seemingly silent. I know for sure, just as I have experienced, many of you struggle with knowing God’s voice and presence. In fact, many people wonder in silence and are concerned about whether God is hearing their heart cries. I’m not fully clear on why Jesus thought God to be silent upon the cross, I believe that even in God’s silence there is purpose and power (Matthew 27:46).
LEARNING TO TRUST GOD IN MY TIMES OF NEED.
We may not always understand what God is doing now. However, we need to have just enough trust and faith to believe that God will provide for those of us who are in need. I believe God will and can bring support for those of us who need it and shall receive it in the divine purpose, plan, and power of God’s timing.
This is the cornerstone of today’s message: trusting God when we cannot detect his voice and presence (Job 23:8-9). We read the great leader Brother Job pleading his cause and search for God. But we also see Job say in verse “10, But he knows where I am going. And when he tests me, I will come out as pure as gold”.
There have been more times than I care to admit in my life when I felt God was silent but later realized that “the apparent silence” was God doing amazing work within me; I couldn’t recognize it. When we cannot hear the frequency of God’s voice and perhaps experience God, being silent isn’t always the reality. We must trust with our whole hearts that God knows what He is doing when it comes to taking care of us and all that concerns us.
Our greatest challenge is to let go of the story we tell ourselves and trust what God has said and promised each of us (Job 23:10).
POINT TO PONDER
Whether you have marital problems, living single challenges, relationship problems, financial crises, or even health issues, trust that God is always present, even amidst what you believe is His silence or absence. God is still there. God is still taking care of you and me because He is God, even when we cannot hear His voice's frequency and see His presence's majesty.
Quote Helen Keller: “The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched- they must be felt with the heart.”
