Word for the day: “Leaders love the people they serve.”

Romans 5:8 (NKJV) But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

BELOVED LEADERS,

I’ve discovered you can’t lead people wholeheartedly; if you don’t love and want what’s in the best interest of those people, you have the privilege to lead and serve.

REMEMBER TO DEMONSTRATE LOVE TO THE PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE TODAY.

When you love someone, you will go to great lengths to secure or rescue the object of your love. You will, in the eyes of many, behave foolishly. We do this and more because of our deep love for our spouses, children, family, friends, etc.

How do you demonstrate your love towards those you say you love? Just think about things you have done or seen done in the name of love. People risk embarrassment, they risk safety, they risk wealth, and they risk all sorts of things for someone they love. And some people/leaders will not risk anything that takes us out of our comfort zones.

GOD’S LOVE IS THE GREATEST LOVE STORY EVER TOLD IN HISTORY.

The greatest love story I’ve ever heard is the one told many years ago on an old, rugged cross. History is His Story- the story of how God the Father gave his Son to rescue us from a life of sorrow and void of hope. I love this story, and God loves us right now in this Advent season like never before.

  • Do you love God?

  • And how do you demonstrate your love for God?

  • Do you love the people in your sphere of influence?

  • And how do you demonstrate your love for those in your sphere of influence?

In this post Advent season, we see another aspect of our Lord’s love towards us: God is with us (Matthew 1:23). When you know that God loves you, life makes sense. And even when it doesn’t, you’re okay with it because you know God loves you deeply. The lens and power of love clarify the confusion of life.

Let us continually seek to live life through this lens of love and like no other time. So, if you’re going through a rough time in life, don’t immediately try and solve the external problem. Get to the root of the matter, which is that your circumstance is causing you to doubt God’s love for you, and thus you feel anxious.

Dwell on the reality that God loves you with the greatest love you’ll ever encounter.

POINT TO PONDER

  • Did you know that God is crazy in love with you?

  • This love, however, is not an act of a crush that will wear off; it is the kind of love that is all redeeming and all-encompassing, and the Lord wants you to fall in love with Him in this Christmas season.
