Word for the day: “Leaders, it’s time to go be amazing.”
John 21:1-5 (NLT) Later, Jesus appeared again to the disciples beside the Sea of Galilee. [a] This is how it happened. 2 Several of the disciples were there—Simon Peter, Thomas (nicknamed the Twin), [b] Nathanael from Cana in Galilee, the sons of Zebedee, and two other disciples.3 Simon Peter said, “I’m going fishing.” “We’ll come, too,” they all said. So, they went out in the boat, but they caught nothing all night. 4 At dawn, Jesus was standing on the beach, but the disciples couldn’t see who he was. 5 He called out, “Fellows, [c] have you caught any fish?” “No,” they replied. 6 Then he said, “Throw out your net on the right-hand side of the boat, and you’ll get some!” So, they did, and they couldn’t haul in the net because there were so many fish in it.

Today’s message is a clarion reminder that the Lord wants the best for you. I’ve discovered many times when the Lord is working and positioning leaders for the best in their lives. It may not always feel like the best is happening in our life.
BEWARE OF RETURNING TO THE PLACE OF FAMILIARITY IN YOUR LIFE’S JOURNEY.
It was a familiar place and time for the disciples (déjà vu). Now again, they had been fishing all night on the Sea of Galilee and hadn’t caught anything.
In today’s message (John Chapter 21) the Lord had risen and had already appeared to some of the disciples.
There were no clear marching orders, so they thought they would go back to what they knew how to do: for the disciples, it was fishing.
What is it that you go back to doing when the Lord seems distant or not around?
Now it was early in the morning, probably still dark. They saw a figure standing on the shore. Jesus called out, “Fellows, have you caught any fish?” (John 21:5, NLT).
Throughout the Bible, God often asked probing questions when He wanted to provoke inquiry, confession, and even spiritual reflection.
In the same way, Jesus was asking His disciples, “Did you catch anything? Have you been successful? Have things gone the way you had hoped they would go? Are you satisfied?”
OFTEN TIMES WHAT SEEMS TO BE A FAILURE IN LIFE CAN ALSO BE THE PATHWAY TOWARD YOUR SUCCESS.
Why did Jesus want them to admit their physical, emotional, and spiritual condition? So, our Lord could bring them to the place where they needed to be.
Today that same Jesus wants to do the same for you! When they cast the net on the right side of the boat as Jesus told them to, their net became so heavy with fish that they couldn’t pull it in (John 21:6).
The Lord was teaching the disciples an important lesson: Failure often can be the pathway to real success.
I have discovered that closed doors often preceded open doors in my journey with the Lord. I implore all of you reading today’s message to make use of your time, gifting, and life.
Be reconciled with those in your family and friends that you need to be right with no matter who is wrong.
The path to your wholeness in the Lord depends on you clearing up the familiar and stepping into the next dimension that the Lord has for you.
The Lord’s plan for your life is for you to be the best version of yourself (John 21:6 NLT).
POINT TO PONDER
We need to come to the point in our lives and say, “Lord, I am not satisfied with the way my life is going. I am tired of doing it my way.
I want to do it Your way.” I believe if you come to God like that, the Lord will extend Divine love, and forgiveness, to your life today.
Then the Lord will take your life and transform it in ways you couldn’t imagine. Have a marvelous day people of God!
