Word for the day “God’s power for the weak”
Isaiah 40:29 (NKJV) He gives power to the weak, and to those who have no might He increases strength.
IT’S AMAZING HOW THE LORD GIVES SUPPORT, STRENGTH, AND POWER IN OUR WEAK SEASONS.
It is not uncommon to find someone who will give support to the powerful, attention to the famous, notice the remarkable, or recognition to the accomplished. Virtually everyone is willing to support and follow the well-known, talented, or beautiful person. How about you, what things do you support? With your time, talents, and treasures? Please notice God gives encouragement to the faint and broken. The Lord gives strength to the exhausted. The Lord does not join the crowds hurrying after celebrities; God seeks out the broken-hearted and the overlooked and gives them the greatest honor imaginable. I wonder have you ever noticed this about God? As written in today’s passage of (Isaiah 40:29).
Our weakness requires the Lord’s resurrection power to function in its place. So not only can we not boast, but our service carries spiritual unction and anointing that wouldn’t be present otherwise. If we could fulfill God’s purposes on our own, it would be the mere performance of self-reliance, but because God’s strength is being completed, accomplished, and fulfilled in our weakness, all the glory is the Lord’s.
IT’S THE LORD STRENGTH THAT CHANGES LIVES FROM WEAKNESS TO GRACE POWER.
Our human strength doesn’t touch hearts or change lives. God’s grace power does. It’s part of His plan, that His grace power is a requirement to fulfill His plan for our destiny. We see it over and over in the Bible. God is attracted to weaknesses. Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Gideon, Ruth, Esther, Mary, Peter, and Paul. It doesn’t matter how others might describe you; perhaps they even consider you among the great, the mighty, and the successful. But are you broken-hearted and helpless before the Lord? If so, then prepare for a strong infusion from the most-High God Himself in this season of your life. When you are faced with a critical challenge, do you promptly look for the most powerful means to solve the problem? I have discovered, that is not thinking the way God thinks. The Bible tells us that it pleases God to use what the world considers weak, foolish, rejected and despised to bring to nothing things which are mighty (I Corinthians 1:27). God can use them to bring down the giants in your life!
POINT TO PONDER
My purpose is to serve the Lord so I will make myself available to Him, even in my weakness. The Lord's word has said of me shall become a reality in my life. God works through the weak things of the world to shame the strong. I now see how God chooses the lowly things, the despised things, to eradicate the things that are. God’s power will be accomplished in my weakness.
Where do you seek strength for life’s challenges?
How often do you see times of weakness as a disadvantage?
Do you sense the Lord’s support and power in times of weakness?
What do you see from today’s message that you can apply to your life?
Are you ready to embrace your moments of weakness?
Do you understand the difference between self-reliance vs God-reliance?
