“A Birthday Tribute to my beloved Aunt Evangelist Vivian Kelly”

The world, I come from a family in the person of Aunts function as an extension of the Mother. My world and upbringing embraced and still ascribe to the value “it takes a village to raise, love, and support our children through life”.

Today I felt compelled to commemorate and remember the life of my “Aunt V”, I called her.

Aunt V was more of a Mom in addition to having a Mom if that makes sense. My Sister Angela and I along with my other cousins had the best of both worlds in our Aunt V. The love, care, food, money, and so much more were amazing and will never be forgotten.  Understandably then, coping with the loss of an Aunt can be especially difficult. We find comfort in talking, reminiscing, crying, and now writing about her and others in our family.

We share special stories about Aunt V, and only things she would do and say with others in and outside of the family and all of these shared experiences really does keep her alive in memory.

Aunt Vivian’s actual birthday is September 8th, we are remembering her life and her only Son Aaron Kelly and grandchildren who are alive and well today. Say a prayer for the family and we pray today’s message helps you with your family in times of loss, death, grief and precious memories.

In times of death and grief love has a way of deepening beyond human comprehension. Love actually seems to grow even more once your love one is transitioned from this life as we know it has been my experience.

Love you “Aunt V”
