Word for the day "A message on marriage"
Genesis 2:23 (NKJV) And Adam said: “This is now bone of my bones, And flesh of my flesh; She shall be called Woman, Because she was taken out of Man.”24 Therefore a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, and they shall become one flesh.
Learn to honor your spouse in your marriage.
In marriage “Humility” is essential to create and maintain unity with your spouse (James 4:10). It requires a mindset that honors your partner.
You are now dealing with the personal convictions of two people. It’s something you must quickly learn to deal with.
So, what’s riding on this? Quite a lot, namely, oneness and intimacy. If you learn the art of servant-leadership, the journey will be much smoother.
Servant leadership is the balance between serving and leading your wife/husband.
However, many married couples will not submit to the oneness principle of God in today’s reading (Genesis 2:23-24).
If you are married today, why did you get married? and what are you doing to make your marriage a reflection of God?
The answers to these questions will tell you why your marriage is where it is!
Take the necessary steps to be aware of “The disconnected syndrome”.
Yes, you may have a compliant spouse who’ll tolerate your less than humble ways.
But in such cases, outer calmness is usually the result of an inner deadness in the marital relationship, not oneness and intimacy.
Many marriages suffer from what I call “The Disconnected Syndrome”.
Marriage is not a way out of your situation or ensuring you live a certain lifestyle.
I found out personally, marriage is really hard work and commitment. A self-reflecting question that can help you in your marriage; what are you committed to?
Without a humble spirit and a willingness to serve and lead one another, you may have peace, you may have marital longevity, and you may even appear to have a marriage made in heaven.
But you won’t have a relationship based on intimacy, there will be a journey of chaos and wounded people, if not casualties, along the way.
The word for the day "A message on marriage “Do you have intimacy in your marriage? what does intimacy mean to you?
I can’t urge you enough in your marriage to commit yourselves to a life of humbly serving and leading your spouse in love.
It’s the journey towards unity and oneness (Ephesians 5:21) that is the relationship goal and purpose.
This message is for married couples, those engaged to be married, and those who the Lord is preparing for marriage, even those who are living together and refuse to commit to their current marriage.
Remember I told you today that marriage is God’s institution (Genesis 2:22-25).
If marriage is God’s institution then we must learn how to function in God’s ultimate purpose for marriage.
Point to ponder
We have enough dead marriages and hurt people. What are you going to do about it Mr. and Mrs.?
I am praying for marriages today, and this includes my own marriage. God wants the best for your marriage people of God, have an amazing day and an amazing marriage.
