Word for the day "Christ-Mas"
Psalm 34:8 (KJV) O taste and see that the Lord is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.
Christ-Mas- The Latin word Mas means more. And Christ-Mas means more of Christ.
Did you know, unlike physical hunger? Our appetite for God has the potential to be endless.
Once you have satisfied your physical hunger you no longer want to eat. In fact, the sight, smell, or even the thought of food can almost make you sick after you’ve eaten your fill.
But the opposite is true of our appetite for God. The very act of satisfying your appetite for God intensifies it.
That’s precisely why Scripture tells us to ‘Taste and see that the Lord is good.’ To come to the Lord’s table where there is a feast going on. How is your appetite for the Lord?
Experience for yourself that God satisfies completely. And when you do, something wonderful and life-changing will happen.
You’ll find yourself wanting more of the Lord and less of what you’ve been using as a possible substitute for God.
Do you have a hunger for God? This Christ-mas season is a great time for more of Christ.
Today’s message is a gentle reminder of the real reason for the season.
Often this time of year, it's easy for us to get caught up in making last-minute trips to various stores, stressing over finding the perfect gifts and making sure we have the right food and desserts.
We can get so caught up in all of the commercialism of the season that we forget the real reason for the season and why we are celebrating in the first place.
It can happen to all of us, and that’s why I’m writing to provide a gentle reminder. The season is about having more of Christ in our lives, even while enjoying the gifts and food with family and friends.
Through the stress and hype of the holidays, remember that Christmas means much more than anything we can buy at a store.
We should also use this time to focus on the many blessings in our lives, the people that we love and care about the most, and celebrating the birth of Jesus.
It all starts with surrender, surrender to the fact that God is the main reason for this season. Let’s put all of our heart and mind into the reality of the Lord in this season.
Once you have given the Lord your best in this season, go ahead and have an amazing Christ-mas time.
Point to ponder
Christmas can be a season of great joy. It is a time of God showing His great love for us. It can be a time of healing and renewed strength.
You see, Christmas is when we celebrate the birth of the Christ child. God sent His Son, Jesus, into the world to be born.
His birth brought great joy to the world. Have an amazing Christmas season family and friends.
