Word for the day "Leaders need their spirit renewed"

Psalm 51:10 (KJV) Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me.

Leaders who seek the Lord will have their spirit renewed.

If you are a person who wants to walk with God but you’re having a tough time. What do you do? Where can one start in the search for spiritual renewal?

What kind of relationship do you have with God? Start with the realization that spiritual renewal comes from God.

Don’t seek the experience of spiritual renewal, but seek the one who renews your spirit.

When people came to Jesus to have their needs met, very often our Lord redirected their thinking.

The master taught them to lift their eyes from their own daily necessities and seek God first.

Jesus told them, “He will give you all you need from day to day if you live for him and make the Kingdom of God your primary concern.”

(Matthew 6:33). In the same way, the psalmist reminds us in an amazing passage in (Psalm 111), encouraging his listeners to look to God first, who will then meet their needs.

He writes, “Who can forget the wonders He performs? How gracious and merciful is our Lord! He gives food to those who trust Him; He always remembers His covenant.” (Psalm 111:4-5).

Renewal is a part of self-care; we all have to make time to have our spirit renewed for the journey.

A dictionary definition of renewal would be something similar to “make new; restore freshness, life, or quality” or “to make spiritually new.”

When the Bible speaks of renewal, it sometimes refers to the physical renewal, rest, that is required for our bodies to continue functioning at their best.

The Lord Himself instituted a day of rest for His people every week (Exodus 34:21), and Psalm 23 speaks of a physical rest only God can provide.

Physical rest and renewal are a requirement of our imperfect bodies. While physical renewal is important, there is another important type of restoration found in the Bible,it 's called spiritual renewal.

The sure outcome of renewal is that God’s people will act like God’s people. The problem is that often times the people who say they are God’s people conduct themselves just like everybody else.

Those who say that they are God’s people are to make a difference in our homes, jobs, churches, communities, etc. Renewal gives the edge needed to make a difference and be the difference in our world today.

When we don’t make time for renewal, we are rendered powerless as God’s people and will have a very difficult time making a difference.

Point to ponder

Spiritual renewal doesn’t come from seeking spiritual renewal. That only results in a temporary emotional high lacking the true substance that God can provide.

Instead, seek the Lord and surrender your will to His. Let it be your first thought each morning when you start your day.

The steps to spiritual renewal are neither secretive nor complicated. The spiritual renewal comes when God’s people affirm the Word of God, adore the God of the Word, acknowledge the Lord’s Sovereignty and act like God’s people.
