Word for the day "Self-Care leadership mandate"

Embrace the challenge of self-care in your leadership practices.

One of the fundamental aspects of leadership often neglected is the care for oneself as a leader.

Always remember as a leader when you embrace the challenge of caring for yourself as a priority. You'll always be an effective leader to others in your sphere of influence.

Excerpts from "The Journey of Self-Care from the Inside Out" leadership Book.

"Self-Care makes you accountable for your personal development. I am proposing that leaders who embrace self-care in their life’s journey must never stop evolving.

They are lifelong learners and are always looking for ways to be the best version of themselves.

I look at the lives of some celebrity people I admire: Michael Jackson, Whitney Houston, Anthony Bourdain, Carrie Fisher, and Spiritual leaders Pastor Zachary Timms, Pastor Andrew Stoecklein, and Pastor Isaac Hunter.

These celebrities and pastors had some very unique similarities. They were unable to find a way to care for themselves adequately.

Having a significant impact on the lives of people through artist entertainment and spiritual leaders’ inner attainment, not understanding how to care for themselves wholesomely led to their tragic demise.

There is no lack of statistics about pastors, and depression, burnout, health, low pay, spirituality, relationships and longevity, and none of them are good.

According to the Schaeffer Institute, “70 percent of pastors constantly fight depression, and 71 percent are burned out.”

We all have to contend with the self-care leadership practice in our various life journeys."

The real truth about leadership risk is sobering.

I believe it is essential to understand the risk of leadership burnout and the collateral damage when self-care is not practiced.

Some of the more hazardous risks are: Burn out, this is when the leader as a person does not have the energy or passion they once had when they started a job, career, and calling.

The spiritual risk includes when the leader as a person does not sense growth in their lives in their job, assignment, or calling.

And relationship risk is when the leader as a  person experiences family problems, marital problems, and various relationships issues with friendships as well.

Point to ponder

When self-care is not a priority for leadership in any capacity. It is my premise that the leader as a person will not be as effective in realizing their purpose, potential or visionary goals.The leader who prioritizes self-care as a mandate will rise to the occasion in an effective manner.If you would like to read more please click the button below to purchase your copy of my new book.
