Philippians 4:8 (HCSB) Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise—dwell on these things. 9 Do what you have learned and received and heard and seen in me, and the God of peace will be with you.

Make sure to keep your perspective aligned with the Lord.

What’s your attitude today? Are you fearful, angry, bored, or worried? Are you pessimistic, perplexed, pained, and perturbed? Are you walking around complaining with a frown on your face that’s almost as big as the one in your heart? If so, God wants to have a little talk with you.God created you in His own image, and He wants you to experience joy, contentment, peace, and abundance. But, God will not force you to experience these things; you must claim them for yourself. I don’t know who I am talking to, but I know you see today’s message? Your attitude determines your altitude!God has given you free will, including the ability to influence the direction and tone of your thoughts. Here’s how God wants you to direct those thoughts, read today’s Word again. Finally brothers, whatever is true, whatever is honorable, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is commendable—if there is any moral excellence and if there is any praise, dwell on these things” (Philippians 4:8 HCSB).

Time to refocus your attitude in this time of your life.

The quality of your attitude will help determine the quality of your life. So, the next time you find yourself dwelling upon the negative aspects of your life, refocus your attention on things positive. The next time you find yourself falling prey to the negative reality of pessimism, stop yourself and refocus your thoughts at this time in your life. The ultimate level of human need extends into the spiritual realm. Just as we feed our bodies in response to our primary need to survive physically, we need to feed our spirit because we are spiritual beings. And as spiritual beings, we must embrace the fact of keeping our thoughts above our circumstances (Colossians 3:1-4).

Point to ponder

The next time you’re tempted to waste valuable time gossiping or complaining, resist those temptations with all your might. Your attitude determines your altitude

Today’s Prayer

Father, create in me a grateful heart and a positive attitude by focusing on opportunities, not obstacles. As I consider my disappointments, help me to see them as your appointments. I thank you that all things work together for good to those who love you and are called according to your will. In Christ name, Amen.
