Word for the day "The Gift of having a Mentor"
Proverbs 11:14 (NKJV) Where there is no counsel, the people fall;But in the multitude of counselors, there is safety.
The significance of a mentor in today’s 21st century is by far one the greatest things a leader can embrace.
Building character involves a multifaceted approach. It is my professional opinion the value of accountability should not be underestimated.The gift of finding mentors and life coaches are invaluable in this 21st century day and age.The notion of securing men and women who you trust and respect in your life provides a dimension accountability that can be unprecedented.Most of us can point to an influential person (or conceivably several people) who have helped shape who we are today.These choice mentors have worked behind the scenes with us, generously sharing their time, expertise, and insights to advance and develop our potential, keep us focused, and help us increase our capacity both personally and professionally.
Serving as a mentor can make an amazing difference in another person’s life.
It’s a been an amazing experience for me, being a mentor to various leaders and leaders in the making.It’s a special bond of love and intimate concern for the other, and it can fill your life with significant destiny and purpose.Mentoring literally adds value to the lives of people that ensures people are valued, needed and recognized as being special as a person.I have discovered feedback can help close performance gaps and assist a mentee in targeting appropriate areas for growth and development.The overarching assignment of a mentor can help you make impact decisions and character advancing choices.In fact, part of the mentor’s role is to help you recognize the blind spots that are harmful to your life and destiny.If you are reading today’s message this may be time for you to consider securing your mentor.You may know someone you’d like to choose as your mentor. It’s your assignment as the mentee to find your mentor, either by joining a mentoring program or engaging with a choice person directly.
Point to ponder
So today, as a first step in taking a risk and thinking outside of the box, begin your next steps for advancement by seeking a mentor who is recommended, or you have researched.Then listen carefully to your mentor’s advice and be willing to accept that advice even if accepting it requires effort or pain, or both.Consider your mentor to be God’s gift to you. Thank God for that gift, and advance in your life and destiny.
