Joshua 2:12 (NKJV) Now, therefore, I beg you, swear to me by the Lord, since I have shown you kindness, that you also will show kindness to my father’s house, and give me c]">[c]a true token, 13 and spare my father, my mother, my brothers, my sisters, and all that they have, and deliver our lives from death.” 14 So the men answered her, “Our lives for yours if none of you tell this business of ours. And it shall be when the Lord has given us the land, that we will deal kindly and truly with you.”

We all have defining moments in our lives, make sure you recognize them.

How would you like to be remembered? Is there a defining moment in your life that resonates with you?A defining moment is a point in your life when you're urged to make a pivotal decision, or when you experience something that fundamentally changes you.Not only do these moments define us, but they have a transformative effect on our perceptions and behaviors. In the book of Hebrews Chapter 11, we see Rahab the prostitute is commended in otherwise known as the “Hall of Faith,” for giving a friendly welcome to the spies that had entered Jericho, a land “devoted to the Lord for destruction.”When we read her story in the book of Joshua Chapter 2, we see that Rahab was faced with a defining moment of her own: to choose between Jericho or God.

What is the Lord showing you in this season of defining moments for your life?

God showed grace to Rahab by revealing Himself to her. During the biggest decision she could’ve ever faced, she chose to walk by faith, trusting in God and who the Lord said He was.If you think about it, every negative defining moment in your life has been a result of trusting in yourself, in your own judgment or giving in to temptation because you weren’t trusting God to have your best interest in mind.In other words, you’re living out your life on your own without the Lord. For most of us, we can still define our moments for the future. God may yet have a defining moment when you will discover something new or see the work of God in your life in a unique way.I think God likes defining moments. The Lord wants you to have an experience with Him that is memorable. Make a commitment to the Lord today to allow your defining moment to enrich your life beyond measure. One of my defining moments has been the Ministry leadership of Grace and Truth, being afforded the grace of God to share with each of you daily.Even with my shortcomings, mistakes, heartaches, disappointments, I have experienced in life.Without a shadow of a doubt, one of the greatest responsibilities and rewards in my life has been the establishment of this great outreach effort. When it comes to facing defining moments in my future, I pray God shows me grace in that I continue to walk in faith and trust the Lord’s leading, even when the challenges of life become greatest.

Point to ponder

Remember to let the moments happen. Let them happen, let them influence you, and try to learn as often as you can.Look back learn, look back and continue your journey and allow your defining moments to happen one day at a time. Defining moments can be poignant, and they can be inspiring!
