Word for the day "Be sure to take time to rest"
Genesis 2:2 (NKJV) And on the seventh day God ended His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.Physical exhaustion is one of the Lord’s ways of telling us to regroup. God expects us to work hard, of course, but the Lord also intends for us to rest. When we fail to take the rest that we need, we do a disservice to ourselves and to our families. Are you tired?
We must be mindful to incorporate times of self-care in our lives.
We live in a world that tempts us to stay up late-very late. We live in a world that encourages us to shake and move, combined with too little sleep, is a prescription for exhaustion. We must take the necessary steps to ensure that we have sufficient rest and that we take care of our bodies and our mind. Please be mindful if we make decisions that promote good health, our bodies respond. But if we fall into bad habits and undisciplined lifestyles, we suffer tragic consequences.Leaders and leaders in the making alike can take proactive measures to ensure they are practicing self-care in and outside of the interpersonal environments they co-exist in. Getting enough rest will allow us to function in our lives. When we are rested, praying or meditating to feel centered, relaxed and balanced, that is when we can inspire others, we can also interface within a productive and effective manner.
Whatever you do in your life, live a life that brings optimal results.
As spiritual leaders, mothers, fathers, community advocates, managers, we must seek inner growth of character, wisdom, and obedience more than an outer growth of ministry, family, and business impact.Yes, we want both, but we need to watch closely that we are in the Word of God, reading good books, spending time around mentors, as well as watching the overall health of our soul, relationships, and emotions more than we are giving out. However, it is also important to consider self-care as the optimal response to moments where we are in the full story of our lives.
