Word for the day "Happy Mother's Day"
Today’s word-cup is brought to you by Robin Baker Enjoy!Happy Mother’s day to all our Mother’s!!!Proverbs 31:10-31 (AMP) A capable, intelligent, and virtuous woman—who can find her? She is far more precious than jewels and her value is far above rubies and pearls. The heart of her husband trusts in her confidently and relies on and believes in her securely, so that he has no lack of [honest] gain or need of [dishonest] spoil. She comforts, encourages, and does him only good as long as there is life in her.About 15 years ago I had a conversation with a friend and the subject of the virtuous woman came up. And I was adamant when I made this statement “Please I’m not even trying to be a virtuous woman”. He looked at me and said why?… Why? I’ll tell you why, that is way too much pressure to put on one woman. I could never walk in those shoes so if that’s what you are looking for in a wife, well that’s not me. I am sorry to disappoint you. His reply was simply never say never. As I later took time to really read (Proverbs 31) I realized that the virtuous woman was simply a “Woman of Noble Character”. Meaning; morally good, honorable, and trustworthy. She is a woman who loves and cares for her husband and family with much dedication making sure that they are well taken care of. She Take’s great pride in taking care of the home making it a place of peace for her husband to return to, along with tending to the needs of her children. (Verse 28) “Her children rise up and call her blessed” and last but not least she reverently and worshipfully fears the Lord. While I still wasn’t sure if I could walk in those shoes, I knew that it was a possibility. When God created woman he wrapped us in such greatness. He designed us with tender feelings and loving hearts. We have the ability to withstand pressure yet we are delicate as a flower. We were created for greatness; however some of us struggle to walk in that greatness. Maybe because you feel inadequate, depressed, lonely, abused and sometimes misused. I am here to tell you that God wants you to know that his design of you is not flawed you are a beautifully designed vessel. We are not perfect and sometimes we fall short, but the greater truth is we are God’s gift to man. So today I say walk in your greatness. Be the best wife you can be, be the best mother you can be, be the best you that you can be. And God will bless you for your loyalty and commitment in-spite of your struggle and you will be known as “A Woman of Noble Character”.That friend that I had that conversation with 15 years ago is now my husband. I know what you’re thinking, I may not walk fully in those virtuous shoes, no I am not perfect, yes I have made many mistakes, and yet he still loves me for me. I know he is praying that one day with God’s grace, guidance and much prayer I will fully walk in those shoes. But until then I just want to be the best wife and mother that I can be according to God’s will for my life. For I know God is not through with me yet!Brothers, please join me in saying Happy Mother’s Day to all the Mothers.
