Word for the day "Don't forget your children"
Ephesians 6:1-3 (NIV) Children, obey your parents in the Lord, for this is right. 2 “Honor your father and mother”—which is the first commandment with a promise— 3 “so that it may go well with you and that you may enjoy long life on the earth.”[a]When parents don't spend meaningful time with their children, a credibility tension develops. In fact, one of the most common mistakes parents make is expecting respect without relationship.Inevitably, as author Josh McDowell poignantly observed, "Rules without relationship leads to rebellion."Children might live with this contradiction for years; but if you are cultivating hurried, superficial relationships with your children now, the odds are extremely high that, in time, they won't respect your opinions, invite your wisdom, or respond to your warnings when they need to most later. Engaging our children is of utmost importance and will determine much of their destiny! The rich experience of parenthood resists short, tidy definitions. But never forget -despite whatever else parenthood may be-it's a battleground for the well-being of your children. Don’t miss the opportunity to engage your children from the earliest of ages and into adulthood.Point to ponder- Therefore, it's imperative that you learn to fight effectively for your children, and it all starts with relationship-just like it does for us with God.Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of April 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Mr. Kenneth Washington, Ms. Gertrude Scott, and Mrs. Angela Harrison.
