Word for the day "Gotta get myself together"

Matthew 6:19-21 (ESV) [ Lay Up Treasures in Heaven ] “Do not lay up for yourselves treasures on earth, where moth and rust destroy and where thieves break in and steal, but lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust destroys and where thieves do not break in and steal. For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.Learning how to be careful as I live in the world we live. So many seductive trappings and compromises are available to embrace on this side of heaven. However, I am reminded of the price that was paid by Jesus for me to have the life of salvation. In fact, there are some special people who have paved the way and whose shoulders I am standing on now to be in the position I am now in my life. How about you?The truth is each of us longs for a sense of belonging. It's the way we as people are designed, and it's a good thing. But what the world has to offer is incapable of producing what we too often seek to find in it, so it can't help but leave us disappointed. I am learning how to live, love, and laugh my best life now in the gifts God has given me. Just wanted to publicly thank the Lord for my family, friendships, and even the challenges of life. Do you have some family, friendships, mentors, pastors, that you might want to call, write a letter, make a visit, just to say you appreciate. I am burdened with the lack of authentic relationships I see and experience even in my own life. But at the same time, I am learning to really appreciate those that have added great value to my life.Point to ponder- Don't become a collector of empty treasures in your search to find belonging. Possessing things that belong to you is no substitute for choosing to belong to God, and possessing eternal security in our Lord Jesus Christ. In this Lenten season let's get ourselves together let's make the life we live count. Some of us have grown so cold in our lives, and the Lord is available to help you get yourself together today! Our Leadership team is especially thankful for those of you who provided financial donations and support in the month of March 2016 by partnering with us in efforts to advance the kingdom of God in this 21st century season: Special thanks to Mr. William Wilson, Mr. Domonique Gatling, Ms. Gertrude Scott, and Mrs. Angela Harrison.
