Word for the day "Jesus the Way, Truth and Life"
John 14:6 (NKJV)Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.Why are we as people so quick to believe what is false? My belief is because it's easier to and we want to, we want to own, we want to possess, we want to accumulate. And if we don't want actual power, we at least seek the power of certainty. It's almost as if we are saying "Enough of this living by faith stuff". When we reach such a point, though, we have essentially lost faith in God's love. The good news is we can find that love again through the truths of the Bible. But it is up to us' to make choices based on the truth and then follow through. This message is for someone reading today that may have lost their way!Truth and love are inseparable twins. Both seek to give, to free, to offer hope. They never seek to set their own personal agenda. Rather, truth and love follow Jesus on a self-giving road. How can we remain faithful to truth if we are so predisposed to follow after seductive lies? We must believe the truth and the truth of the Lord. We naturally tend to stray away from believing both the bad and the good news of the gospel. We forget about God's grace and become impressed with ourselves. In fact, we lose touch with the perils of sin when we avoid the truth of God, and we avoid the truth of the power of God's love to set us free from sin forever.Point to ponder- If you're experiencing misery, despair, and hopelessness, perhaps you have become confused about the truth. Perhaps you have succumbed to some of the lies of this world.
