Word for the day "Learning Transparency"

^{Genesis 3:4 (NKJV)} Then the serpent said to the woman, “You will not surely die. ⁵ For God knows that in the day you eat of it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”⁶ So when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree desirable to make one wise, she took of its fruit and ate. She also gave to her husband with her, and he ate. ⁷ Then the eyes of both of them were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together and made themselves coverings.My upbringing was such that "transparency" wasn't a big part of the way we lived. My parents never came out and said it, but what was modeled was that it was some things we just didn’t talk about openly. And I understand today, there are things we should keep private and some things we do need to talk about! However, there are some critical things in our lives that must be communicated. Do you have  one or more trusted persons in your life?It can be difficult to be real and open and honest, but if I want to continue growing and learning and being open to the awesome things God is doing, I have to at all costs keep myself accountable and let others know exactly where I am, what I'm feeling, what I'm concerned about; in short, just where I am emotionally. When I don't do that, that's where the journey into isolation begins for me, and I head off into an unhealthy emotional state. I want to be honest and exhibit integrity at all times. I want to be someone that others can trust and turn to knowing there will be no judgment. And I want others to come to me in the same way. I must say I don’t always get it right, but I am working diligently!Point to ponder- What keeps us from this transparency in life? I know one thing that hinders transparency is pride. Satan has used this since Adam and Eve to put a wedge between man and God. Our battles are spiritual, and must be handled spiritual. Don't let pride get in the way of God's call for you to live a transparent life.
