Word for the day "The Nature of Pride"
II Chronicles 26: 16 (NKJV) But when he was strong his heart was lifted up, to his destruction, for he transgressed against the Lord his God by entering the temple of the Lord to burn incense on the altar of incense.Have you personally witnessed the destruction that pride can cause? Do you have strands of pride in your life that trip you up in your journey and destiny? I have discovered there is a good type of pride and bad type of pride we can have in our lives! The perils caused by the bad type of pride is nothing new. In the Old Testament book of (II Chronicles Chapter 26) the Bible tells us of 16-year-old Uzziah, King of Judah, who had every blessing from God; but his pride led to losing his reign to his son, Jotham. What have you loss because of your bad type of pride? What are you losing because of your pride? We must always be on guard to keep the bad type of pride from creeping into our lives unchecked. The good type pride is seeing the work of God in our lives and proclaiming all the glory goes to God. Telling our children to remember who they are in life and what their family represents in our communities, world, and life! Is a good type of pride. This reminds our children of the responsibility expected of them to be the best person they can in life! The good type of pride makes our life better, makes our world better, and makes better people of us all at the same time!Point to ponder- I challenge you today, to take an honest look at yourself. Have you become prideful in a manner that brings peril? If so, ask the Lord's forgiveness and God’s help in keeping pride out of your life. Let’s work at becoming Godly proud great people of God!Follow me on Twitter @Elder James Baker, as I endeavor to encourage and empower leaders of today and tomorrow!Kingdom Blessings,Pastor James Baker, Jr.Thank you for using the Word Cup devotionals brought to you through Grace and Truth Leadership on (Word press).
