Just as Advent is the preparation season for Christmas, Lent is the preparation season for Easter (The Resurrection of our Lord). For those within Christendom that observe this season, it started with Ash Wednesday (February 18th) and concludes with the death of Christ on Good Friday (April 3rd) and Resurrection on Easter Sunday (April 5th). The time of preparation helps one focus on our need for forgiveness and God's provision of Christ for that forgiveness.
