Word for the day "Focused on Jesus"
Jesus 10:25 (NIV) Jesus answered, “I did tell you, but you do not believe. The works I do in my Father’s name testify about me, 26 but you do not believe because you are not my sheep. 27 My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me. 28 I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. 29 My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all[c]; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. 30 I and the Father are one.”Too many of us travel through life basing our decisions on how they make us feel and what you experience. We fail to study God's Word enough and we also spend too little time in prayer. Consequently, we have very little knowledge of the Good Shepherd who beckons us to Divine direction, no matter how we feel and regardless of our circumstances (John 10:27).How about considering a transformational alternative? If you place your focus completely upon Christ, over time it will become second nature to look to the Lord and not to yourselves. You will not get lost when you enter the dark seasons of life that are sure to come. Your focused fixed upon Jesus will keep you from altering your direction due to momentary discomfort or the temptation of temporary gratification. Our faith, when focused on the true God, will not be shaken by adversity or temptation. As long as we hold on tightly to the Lord by faith trusting in His goodness and love we can come through pain and struggle with a deeper and richer relationship with Jesus, rather than a strained faith resulting from a prolonged failure to seek and see our true God. I know all that I am sharing here is not easy family of God, but our life depends on it!Start today, step out in faith its scary at first, but actually pretty cool once you get into the flow of it all.For His Kingdom,Pastor James Baker
