Daniel 5:25 (NASB) “Now this is the inscription that was written out: ‘[aa] MENĒ, [ab] MENĒ, [ac]TEKĒL, [ad]UPHARSIN.’ 26 This is the interpretation of the [ae] message: ‘MENĒ’—God has numbered your kingdom and put an end to it. 27 ‘TEKĒL’—you have been weighed on the scales and found deficient. 28 ‘PERĒS’—your kingdom has been divided and given over to the Medes and [af]Persians.”This is what we need to remember family of God: it isn’t about how famous we are; it is about being faithful with what God has called us to do. We are often influenced by Iconic figures and famous people that are not influencing us in the things of the Lord. Often we lose our focus on what matters most in life, and the Lord has to be the most important aspect of our lives! Just wanted to provoke some genuine reflection for your day.In today’s word cup: Daniel said to the wicked King Belshazzar, “You have been weighed in the balances, and found wanting” (Daniel 5:27). A loose paraphrase would be: “Belshazzar, you’re a lightweight. You’re a spiritual bantam weight.” In the things of God we need to be moving up the weight class to becoming a “Heavy Weight”! Only what we do for Christ will last.On God’s scales, you don’t want to be a lightweight. On God’s scales, you want to be a heavyweight. You want to have substance and meaning in your life. It isn’t about what God has called another believer to do; it is all about what God has set before you to do. Have you been faithful? If you have, then you will be rewarded on that final day. Just need to remind you, Jesus is coming back and it’s not a fairy tale sisters and brothers.
