Word for the day "Praying for our Leaders"
Joshua 1:16 (NKJV) So they answered Joshua, saying, “All that you command us we will do, and wherever you send us we will go. 17 Just as we heeded Moses in all things, so we will heed you. Only the Lord your God be with you, as He was with Moses. The influence of leadership on the lives of people can be good and sometimes bad. It has been my recent observation in the circles I travel to remain vigilant and filled with Godly values. Even if at times I may not measure up to the challenge; one thing that is for certain God gives leadership of any kind; even President Obama must be included in these prayers people of God; there is a measure of grace given from the Lord for his or her assignment in leadership.Joshua was well trained by Moses when he took over leadership of the nation of Israel, but that was no guarantee of success. In fact, Joshua failed when he acted without first seeking God's counsel (Read Joshua Chapter 1). To encourage him, the leaders of the tribes prayed for him, saying, "Only may the Lord your God be with you as he was with Moses." When was the last time you encouraged your leader? Or are you one who encourage other leaders rather than your own?We can do no better thing for our leaders than to pray for them. This includes leaders at every level of our society, including our families. No child of God can succeed at God's work apart from prayer. It is one of those great Virtues of the people of God. Even our leaders of families, churches, workplace, can make mistakes but our prayers will sustain them in the Grace of God! Blessings and love always.
