Word for the day "Emotions and God"
Job 15: 6-12 (MSG) Do you think you’re the first person to have to deal with these things? Have you been around as long as the hills? Were you listening in when God planned all this? Do you think you’re the only one who knows anything? What do you know that we don’t know? What insights do you have that we’ve missed? Gray beards and white hair back us up— old folks who’ve been around a lot longer than you. Are God’s promises not enough for you, spoken so gently and tenderly? Why do you let your emotions take over, lashing out and spitting fire, Pitting your whole being against God.What do your emotions have to do with God? Is it you, or have you formed the harmful habit of letting other people in your life or troubling situations; determine the quality of your thoughts and the direction of your day? If you are developing wisdom in your life, and if you’d like to build a better life for yourself and those you love most; you’ll learn to control your emotions before your emotions control you.Human emotions are highly volatile, decidedly irrational, and many times unreliable. Our emotions are like the weather, only far more unpredictable. So we must learn to live by faith, not by the ups and downs of our own emotional ups and downs. Where does God fit in with your emotions?“Sometime during today or the days ahead, you will probably be gripped by a strong emotional negative feeling. Do not rely on it, or be fooled in a negative way; Test it (I Thessalonians 5:21). And turn it over to God. Your emotions will inevitably change; God will not, and the Lord is reliable. So trust Him completely as you watch those negative feelings slowly go away into thin air, and of course, they will. I am starting to really submit this area of my life to God now, won’t you join me?Be careful for this Spiritual area in your life called “Emotions” they will either lead you away from your destiny or you can confront the reality of their dangers, giving and submitting them to the Lord. Have a fantastic day!
