Word for the day: "The God of all hope"
As we closed this week out let us take another look back, Today's word cup was originally posted on March 19, 2012. Have a blessed weekend!Today’s Word-Cup is brought to you by Min. Robin Baker…Enjoy!Romans 15:13 I pray that God, the source of Hope, will fill you completely with joy and Peace because you trust in Him. Then you will overflow with confident hope through the Holy Spirit.People everywhere are in crises. In the midst of massive layoffs, foreclosures and bank failures, while trouble may surround us, it’s easy to give into worry, but we are not alone. When we feel hedged in by doubt, we can remember we have a Helper, who is our great support. God is our hope. In my time of trouble I have noticed that if I don’t keep my focus on God, I can easily lose hope in my situation. It’s easy to wind up attending pity parties. Does that sound familiar to you? Have you ever been the life of a pity party? I know I have. Have you ever been consumed with the “What if’s”. What if I lose my job? What if I can’t find another job? What if I can’t pay my mortgage? What if I’m not good enough? What if I can’t find a husband/wife? What if I can’t pay my bills? Many are losing hope. Have you lost hope in the time of adversity?Sisters and Brothers I have come to bring you good news. We don’t have to be perplexed, uncertain or concerned about our future. For we have a promise of a greater hope which is in Christ Jesus. (John 16:33) “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world”. Jesus is saying that financial trouble will come, health will falter, children may rebel, and love ones will die…but He has overcome it all. Christ is bigger than any trouble you and I may face. God never promised that there would be no trouble. What He did promise is that if we would trust Him in the midst our circumstances, we would not be disappointed. That, my friend is a Hope we can hold onto. In our life we may lose hope, but the God of all Hope has not lost us!We must place our Hope in God with an expectation…of something we can count on. In other words, we can expect God, in His timing, to make good on His promises to us. (Romans 5:5) (NIV) “And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us”. Be blessed beautiful people of God and remember Hope in Christ does not disappoint for He is the God of all HOPE!Min. Robin Baker
