Word for the day "Slow Down"

John 11:6 (NIV) So when he heard that Lazarus was sick, he stayed where he was two more days, 7 and then he said to his disciples, “Let us go back to Judea.”We live in a 21st century and everybody is in one big rush. However, when we look in the Bible we never read about “Jesus” being in a rush or hurry. I'm always in a hurry, hoping for quick answers and looking for answers in the direction I want and need to go. Are you one to rush or hurry at life?I've thought about that and it makes me think of when cooking and making gravy. The most tender, juicy meat you can fix is in a slow stew. And, that's how it is with healing. Healing is a process that can’t be hurried. It's a slow like making gravy while cooking meat in cooking experience. And if you can embrace this, it will take the rush or hurry pressure off you to finish it up. Look at today’s reading and see what Jesus does and why He does not hurry? The Bible reads “Jesus says so the Glory of God can be experienced” (John 11:4)!God engages us and desires for you to focus on Him and his creation in your life each day. When you race through life doing everything as fast as you can, you miss some pretty marvelous things along the way. Every challenge, every growth opportunity, every surprise that comes your way is an opportunity for you to look for God.Healing can be slow, but it doesn't mean you are not growing. Allow it to slow cook and you’ll have a “Gravy” recovery filled with some tasty, teaching, of wisdom. Jesus was never in a rush or hurry. How about you? Have a slow day concerning the things of God!
